Arbitration, Litigation and Corporate

Maarten Drop represents and advises States, State-owned entities, Dutch holdings of foreign companies and their board members in international arbitration and high-profile corporate disputes and renders advice on matters of Dutch corporate law.

He sits as arbitrator and acts as counsel in international arbitration cases before, among others, the ICC, DIS, LCIA, CAM, NAI and SCC. He represents clients in corporate litigation cases before the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal and other Dutch courts. Maarten has a specific expertise in arbitration-related litigation, notably setting-aside and enforcement proceedings, suspension of enforceability and interim measures. He sits as deputy judge in the Rotterdam District Court.

Before setting up Cleber with Bart Voorvaart in 2004, Maarten worked for ten years in the international corporate and litigation practices of Trenité van Doorne.

With his multilingual skillset, knowledge of the Mediterranean world and experience with cultures in Latin America, Africa and Asia, he develops long-term relationships with clients and builds bridges between the various parties involved in a case.
