Cleber represents Angolan Sonangol in defending set-aside

Cleber represents Angolan state-owned enterprise Sonangol in defending setting-aside proceedings before the Amsterdam Court of Appeal. Exem Energy B.V., one of the more than 300 entities of Isabel dos Santos and/or her late husband Sindika Dokolo, seeks to set aside the arbitral award award rendered by a prestigious Dutch tribunal under the auspices of the NAI which on 23 July 2021 found the nullity of a major 2006 transaction betwen Sonangol and Exem on account of ‘grand corruption’. The case remains with the Amsterdam Court of Appeal, where oral pleadings will be held in the first half of 2026.
